Question:
I would like to know if I can see the Planets in the Solar System with a 114 mm telescope.
Answer:
Yes. The crucial thing is not so much the telescope, but rather the location where you will use it: it has to be very dark, and ideally at a high altitude. For example, a mountain, away from populated areas. And, the more transparent the sky is, the bigger the odds of being fascinated by gazing, for example, at Jupiter. But all planets will be fantastic. There is only one final detail: it's very important to have a good mount for the telescope. If it was bought with a fragile one, it's a good idea to invest in a mount that stabilizes it (typically as expensive as the telescope itself). But this is only worth it if you have access to any place like the ones mentioned.
