Pergunta: Sou principiante nestas andanças e curiosidade não me falta. Fiz o download de um planetário (o indicado numa das vossas respostas) e desde aí que tenho andado a tentar identificar constelações, planetas, nebulosas, etc. Depois de identificar a constelação de Touro tentei observar Marte  (pois de acordo com o planetário nestes dias tem sido possível observar esse planeta). O que eu fiz foi identificar as Híades e seguir em direcção a Elnath e Aldebaran. Algures entre estas 2 estrelas é possível avistar uma "estrela" brilhante. Será esta "estrela" o planeta Marte?

Resposta: Ainda bem que já começou a explorar o céu: é a melhor maneira de começar a Astronomia! Actualmente Marte está bem mais perto de Alnath do que de Alderaran conforme se pode constatar pelo mapa da Figura 1. Faço notar que os mapas estelares vêm-se contra o céu (e não a olhar para o chão). É "ao contrário" do que seria de esperar. É especialmente importante notar os pontos cardeais indicados e alinhá-los correctamente.

Answer: It's a good thing that you already started exploring the sky: it's the best way to start Astronomy! Currently, Mars is much closer to Alnath than Alderaran, as you can see from the map in Figure 1. I should note that stellar maps are to be seen against the sky, and not looking down on the floor. It's "reverse" from what you expect. It's especially important to note the cardinal points and align them correctly.
